drfty is a water quality app for Aotearoa New Zealand. This policy explains what information the app uses and how.
drfty uses your device location to find swim sites near you. Location is used only on-device to query the drfty API — it is never stored, logged, or shared with third parties. You can use the app without granting location access by searching for sites by name.
drfty does not require an account and does not collect personal information. The app makes network requests to drfty-api.fly.dev to fetch water quality and marine conditions data. These requests include:
Standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) are retained for up to 30 days for debugging purposes and are not shared.
drfty offers optional one-time tip purchases ("coffee" and "beer") via Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple — drfty receives no financial or personal information from these transactions.
Watch complications and iPhone widgets refresh on a schedule set by the operating system. They use the same location and API requests described above — no additional data is collected.
drfty does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
